Ardbeg Galileo 1999

A very special bottling from Ardbeg to celebrate the first whisky in space. In 2011, an Ardbeg sample was taken to the International Space Station to observe the spirit`s maturation in a near-zero gravity environment. As a result of this historic experiment, the distillery released ?Galileo?, using casks from 1999. A portion of them were Marsala wine casks that had spent 12 years maturing their Ardbeg contents, to give a rich, tropical fruity sweetness to the single malt.
