About this whisky
- Malt type: Single Malt
- Region: Scotland
According to Bruichladdich, this is the most heavily peated whisky in the world, so be warned. The single malt was distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2012 at a rather strong 61% ABV. The liquid matured in ex-bourbon barrels then finished in Chateau D`Yquem Sauternes wine casks. On the nose, there is a gentle layer of citrus smoke, plus some honey, vanilla and overripe oranges. The palate offers more oranges, tobacco, spicy smoke and a touch of ashes.
