Bunnahabhain 26 Year Old Batch 23 TBWC

Bunnahabhain was built near Port Askaig on Islay in 1881, at the height of the Victorian whisky boom. This 26-year-old Bunnahabhain hails from the era long before they started using heavily peated malt. It?s been matured in ex-Bourbon hogsheads and released independently by That Boutique-y Whisky Company as Batch 23. On the nose, there are notes of fresh barley, citrus fruit and a subtle layer of smoke. The palate suggests stewed pears and milk chocolate with a pinch of sea salt and more smoke.
