Bunnahabhain 36 Year Old Canasta Finish 1980

A 36 year old Bunnahabhain aged initially in Oloroso Sherry casks before being finished in barrels that previous held Williams and Humbert Canastra Cream Sherry. The result is a big, Sherry-forward malt with notes of fig, dried plum, date syrup and toasted nuts. The palate is balanced with yet more sweet dried fruit with hints of dark chocolate and ground espresso before a mouth-coasting finish rounds things off – a superb release from Bunnahabhain.
