This is the first batch of rye whiskey from James E. Pepper, bottled independently by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. The whiskey was aged in a bourbon cask with an Oloroso finish, offering aromas of toasted oats, barley and sticky dates. The palate is indulgently sweet, with hints of cinnamon, cloves and warming spices. It finishes on a creamy, buttery note.
