Port Ellen Private Collection Gordon & MacPhail 1979

This single malt from Port Ellen was distilled in 1979 and bottled independently by Gordon & MacPhail in 2019, after spending 40 years in a refill sherry cask. The nose reveals rich aromas red apples, peaches, nuts, delicate sweet spices, plus notes of strawberries, vanilla, liquorice, citrus elements and smoke. The palate is intensely warm and oily, featuring peaches, black pepper and baked apples.
