About this whisky
- Cask type: Bourbon Barrel Finish
- Malt type: Single Grain
- Region: Scotland
An interesting single grain whisky from Loch Lomond distillery, Spearhead is made with 100% malted barley, what makes it a single grain whisky is the type of still it is made in – a Coffey column still. Matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in a combination of traditional toasted oak barrels and infrared toasted barrels for six months, this whisky offers aromas of violets, brambles, blackcurrant, vanilla, caramel and dark chocolate that fill the nose. The palate holds notes of red apples, lime, vanilla fudge and brown sugar that linger in the finish.
