The One Orange Wine Cask Finished

The Lakes Distillery has done something quite unusual here, and finished its The One blended whisky in casks which previously held Orange wine! This particular Orange wine is pretty much what is sounds like, white wine macerated with orange peel, known as ‘Vino de Naranja’ and from Huelva in Andalucía. Just to confuse you other types of Orange wine are made, which do not use actual oranges. First-fill American oak casks were seasoned with said Orange wine (the one with actual oranges), and used to finish the whisky. Just 2,994 bottles of the zesty spirit were released at 46.6% ABV.
