About this whisky
- Malt type: Bourbon
- Region: United States
The third release from the Danville distillery based in Kentucky which uses 24% rye in place in the wheat found in other Wilderness Trail bottlings. Each batch is limited to around 10 barrels and uses corn and rye sourced from a local farm. A sweet nose of popcorn, vanilla custard and toasted rye bread leads to a rich palate with a note of sweet pastry. The finish is a touch peppery with good spice notes from the rye-heavy mashbill, but overall this is a sweeter style of Kentucky Bourbon.
